The day I opened my younger sibling’s door, the room was filled with bizarre drawings on bright yellow walls. To my eyes, my sibling was out of their mind, but in this house, I’m the abnormal one. My dad hands allowance to my younger sibling who dropped out after failing all their classes, telling them not to be discouraged. My mom praises the insane drawings as artistic talent, and I am completely excluded from their world. The precariously maintained normalcy finally begins to crumble.
